Day 1 (Arrive to Bhutan)

  • Arrive at Paro
  • You will be welcomed and accompanied by our tour guide and driver.
  • Visit kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan
  • Visit Ta Dzong, which used to be a watch Tower and now houses as a National Museum
  • Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, which houses the district administration and monk body
  • Visit Drukgyel Dzong, ruin fortress
  • Overnight in Paro

Day 2 (Hike to Taktshang Monastery (The Tigers Nest))

  • Hike to Paro Taktshang (Tigers Nest) which was build in the 8th century. Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th century. Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan and is the tutelary deity of the country. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen taktsang or “tiger lair” caves in which he meditated.
  • After a long and tiring hike to Paro Taktshang drive to Thimphu, The capital city of Bhutan.
  • Overnight at Thimphu

Day 3 (Punakha Site seeing)

  • Visit Memorial Chorten build in memory of late third king Jigme Dorji Wangchuck
  • Visit Zorig Chusum School (13 Bhutanese Arts & Crafts School) to see thanka painting, sculpture, wood and slate carving, gold works, embroidery and traditional boot making.
  • Visit Textile Museum and see hand woven Bhutanese fabric
  • Visit Folk Heritage Museum
  • Visit to kuenselphodrang park
  • Visit to Indigenous Hospital where herbal medicines are prepared.
  • Visit Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s oldest fortress which now a house school for Buddhist studies
  • Overnight in Thimphu

Day 4 (Drive to Phobjikha)

  • After breakfast in Thimphu, drive to Phobjikha (3500m above the sea level), the winter home to black necked cranes (a medium-sized crane in Asia that breeds on the Tibetan Plateau and winters mainly in remote parts of India and Bhutan)
  • On the way stop at Dochula pass (3150m above the sea level) and enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of eastern Himalayan range.
  • Overnight in Phobjikha

Day 5 (Phobjikha Site Seeing and Drive to Punakha)

  • Visit Gangtey Gompa, the biggest Nyingmapa monastery in Bhutan, where the annual Black Necked Crane Festival is held.
  • Drive to punakha (45.1 km) after visiting gangtey Gompa.
  • After reaching Lobesa visit chimmi Lhakhag (short hike). Chimmi Lhakhag is know as fertility temple built by divine madman in the 15th century
  • Drive to Punakha
  • Overnight in Punakha

Day 6 (Punakha Site Seeing and Drive to Thimphu)

  • After breakfast hike to to khamsum yuelay.
  • Towards the evening drive back to Thimphu
  • Overnight at Thimphu

Day 7 (Departure)

  • Morning your guide will accompany you to the airport to see you off onto your flight.
